I have a 60GB iPod model A1136 and need help.?

I had my Ipod for over 3 1 / 2 years and a week ago, is frozen during a song. So I thought to restart the system, as is my custom to do in this case. But this time when I did, after the Apple logo is my Ipod image of an iPod with x in the eyes and a sad face and an exclamation saying to visit the support site of Apple iPod. I left, but I could not find a solution, my friend said it was the battery. So I left my iPod charge for an entire day and the screen would become very low battery dead iPod icon. I tried to connect to my computer to see if it is, but it does basically the same stuff as the iPod dock: ideas [or solutions??

I think the battery is completely dead Blo Corp. iPod Rip. I miss you
