Need an iPod USB adapter for charging an iPod?

Hello. I have an 8 GB iPod touch, and I travel on a computer is not always available. Is it possible for me to use a regular USB adapter to charge your iPod, or do I have Apple USB Power Adapter (Which is much more Exspensive) to load?
