Apple ipod

How I can I get my iPod to work when I loaded it with just a big favor and help of the Red Cross?

I saw in England, but returned United States and then realized it was me and the iPod classic. Now I'm home to recharge a bit, but got a red cross, big and a link to the URL www.apple.com / Support / ipod and tried there, but have little success in finding a solution to my problem. I have no idea what this big red cross that means that is internally broken? and how do I get rid of this problem so that I can use the iPod normally? Please help as I have no experience in dealing with iPods and never had one before. please if you could help me would be very grateful thank you very much:)
