Why is my speaker system to drive away?

I recently received a Sony stereo for Christmas. I have established with the speakers supplied with the system and a pair of speakers more than my aunt gave me, and had no problems. Today I added to the speakers that I used with my old Sony stereo, and after I listened to music via iPod dock for about 15 minutes, and then suddenly quit. I could not turn on or off the dock, and light red by the power of change just went on and off. I removed it and re-connected and has operated for 15 minutes, but then it was the same place. I guess the third game speaker only takes too much power the system, but does not seem a problem that should have. This is the stereo model http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sony+-+50W+Micro+Hi-Fi+Shelf+System+with+Built-in+Apple% 23 174% 26% 3B + iPod% 26% 23 174% 3B + Dock/8713831.p? id = 1199496528064 & skuId = 8713831

I see that could be driving the amplifier more itself. When this happens, it is heated and has a thermal shutdown that shuts down the system until reset. (Unplug and plug in). You could try to lose a few Speaker or buy an additional amplifier to power additional speakers. Hope this helped
