problems with the iPod mini?

ok my friend gave me his old iPod mini and was working well so far. when turned on that I go to apple.com / com / support / ipod I did and told me to download the latest version so I did and no further work is im starting to get really crazy you can not sum1 please help me !!!!!!!

Try to restore the iPod window in iTunes. Then let it load and see if it works. If not, it takes an Apple store and try to fix it.
