I think I have an iPod Shuffle … can you help me with this?

I was told I needed to download software for my pc (I hope it is free) before you can download songs to my ipod … Is not it? my friend has given the ipod and told me that, unfortunately, but it just broke and now I'm clueless what to do. Can anyone help? PS If you please explain me in simple terms and simple … Not much. Im computer savvy thanks!

the first thing you have to to do is go on apple.com and download iTunes software. Once downloaded, you create an account with your email address and credit card (to buy music). then use the cable supplied with the iPod and connect it to ur computer into a USB port. Browse through the songs in the music store, if you want one, then click Buy. will be automatically transferred to ur playlist of purchased music. click the file, then update iPod and iPod ur songs are copied.
