Apple Ipod Shuffle Software Update

My iPod will not play music on their own, but through the computer.
This is a new iPod shuffle – I managed to install / update The latest software from apple.com. I received no errors at all. I can add songs to the unit and they show through iTunes as the device – sync successful – who play with the iPod connected to your computer, but no sound at all if the device itself. I can turn on and have a green light for battery charge – Have hit all buttons as possible – but no sound with headphones or external speakers. I have carefully reviewed the instructions, and depending on the software, everything should be the work – but nothing. Please help. Thank you.
What is your audience on the computer is what is stored in the iTunes library that is in your iPod. What I suspect nothing. Click the Sync button on the iPod and must update the device automatically.
