Can I get the software update on my new iPod Touch without using iTunes on my computer?

I had problems in iTunes my computer and one day my computer crashed and as I think when I start iTunes again disappeared. The folder where the program was still there, but that's all. I need to get the iPhone 3.0 update on my iPod, because you can not get one of the applications you want to go, but I can not go to iTunes. When I download through the website Apple passes through the fine all the way to get to the installation. It says something about the destination folder or something not being there. If anyone knows how to get the update without iTunes on your computer or how to fix iTunes really appreciate any help I can do. Thanks

Can we go to the App Store in the iPod if there is a way. But when you download the installation asks you where you want and maybe post in which we ask you to be gone. If you go to Apple website and go for support, and iTunes (left), should tell how to fix your problem or atleast can ask that question.
