Help with Ipod problem please?

On the Apple site (United Kingdom), saw the new iPod nano and scrolls down to see if there were stations available that allow reception go with the iPod and it is. It is the Apple Universal Dock, which comes with a remote load and sync your iPod, and ect. I wondered if docking station is a real speaker, so when you put in the dock loud music and connect it to anything like television, computers. I just want to know if a speaker because that's all I want. If anyone knows please reply ASAP. Thanks
