Ipod touch Wifi is gray, why?

My mother washed my ipod touch as a month ago and now back to normal except the wifi does not work no. Wi-Fi is the best so I was wondering if there was any way to fix it without going through the Apple store, because I will have to pay full reparation. Any suggestions on how to correct it manually, and if not, I'm willing to send a kind of third thing much cheaper.
