iPhone OS 4.0 multitasking?

I have only one question about the upcoming iPhone OS from Apple. They say that multitasking does not work iPod touch 2G and 3G iPhone. I have these two, and wonder if they will make these features availible to such devices.

Apple has said that multitasking will not be available more than the iPhone 3G. I am sure that they did simply because they are worried that slower processors in the older devices will not be able to handle too many programs at once. However, it would not surprise me if someone figures how to do that on a jailbroken device again, finally. But do not expect a good performance if you do.
