How I can keep my iPhone after my laptop was destroyed?

My laptop was run over by a car and am now stuck with an iPhone that I have nothing to back it up, without losing all my stuff. I searched for answers to this question but most people are concerned about the music on your iPod. I am concerned with images and contacts. What is the best way to avoid this place so when I get my new computer, do not force me to delete my iPhone? The person in the Apple store told me that, supposedly, when I connect my iTunes account that all my stuff is there and the bottom of my phone. Will any? Or just contacts and applications? Please help!
