How to back up your contacts in my iphone or itunes?

I do realize iTunes. So how do I do? I went on the Information tab, and synchronize a hurry, and I tried to sync, but did not work. all you do is save my contacts in Outlook. So I tried to delete one of my contacts and synchronization, and that contact has been deleted from Outlook as well. So how I can save so when I'm updating my iPhone to 3.0, if I can only sync with iTunes, so you do not have to do one by one. or, better yet, how can u save the contact in my SIM card?

The iPhone does not store information contact on the SIM card is the internal memory. Only SIM card is used to store telephone information service. I think there's a way to get Outlook to synchronize with the iPhone – iTunes does not manage all your contacts.
