Does the new iPhone 3G to work on three mobile phones and SIM data plan?

Currently I have an original iPhone on O2 35 tariff pounds. My friend has a three mobile SIM in a contract that expires next year: (I'm happy with my iPhone but my friend wants one that can use its three mobile UK SIM. Since the original iPhone will not work with old rolling three sims, I was thinking Updated my iPhone O2 contract for a new iPhone 3G, unlock (I do not have to wait long for it) and give the iPhone 3G itself. I'll keep the old iPhone activation of the new plan. My questions are: 1) I can use three Mobile phone SIM in the iPhone 3G? 2) Can we use any mobile data plan three (for example, 5 pounds per month) in the iPhone 3G? (Never mind that voice mail does not work, it's just that Safari / Google Maps / YouTube / iTunes should be good) 3) over 35 months in a plan of three networks, about 12 months to go, What does it cost to cancel the contract? -P Cheers
