Can a iphone be used as an iTouch with courses on a contract?

A friend gave me his old iPhone and I wonder if I can use as iTouch, only for music and games? Does the app store still work although I am a contract with Cingular? Thanks

yes it work with a SIM card and The App Store works, just ask friedn What is the user password and iTunes
