How to put a ringtone via SMS on the iPhone?

I have a few tunes on my iphone and I can use one of them on my phone, but when I put one of them for my SMS that does not even appear in it … ? Is it possible? if so, if sombody could please give me clear instructions on how do? The first person told me to do a better answer chosen:) MY WORK ringtones! I do not need to know how to do ringtones. I want to know why you can not define as SMS?
