Is the GPS locator in the Google Maps iPhone 3G for free?

Is the GPS locator in the Maps application on iPhone for free? If you type in an address, it shows a little blue dot and the tracks where you go. I just want to know about AT & T charge me the use of GPS or if you search free.

GPS is a separate hardware device that AT & T can not continue without the consent of Apple. The maps are downloaded over the data network (which if you have a reliable plan with AT & T is free, as they were required to have an unlimited data plan). You have nothing to worry about!
