Iphone Locked Up After Update
2006

Can i get an iphone then unlock it N when i want to update it will lock itself can unlock it again after that?
All iPhones sold in the US are sold locked to AT&T. Unlockd iPhones are available on eBay from people who bought them and unlocked them. Updating these phones with iTunes will re-lock them can i unlock it again after that ?? Only if there’s an unlock solution available after the upgrade. Each upgrade means that a new unlock solution has to be developed. You end up waiting for folks like the dev team to figure out how to unlock the phone. The last unlock solution took over a month. so i can upgarde it if there is unlock programe for da verison of da update rigth ?? yes of course you can its really easy if you plug the iphone in and connect to itunes its really simple. just right click and go to properties tell it not to sync first so you don’t have to repeat this each time. then in the security tab just click unlock. simples.
i copyed pasted this i dont get it anyone explain plz
anytime you update the phone it updates the chips firmware (aka baseband) which has to be cracked everytime. to unlock the phone now you can use Blacksn0w i do believe because it gets around the new baseband version. People who need to keep their phones unlocked to use on other networks should not update the software when iTunes says, they need to wait for the iphone dev-team (http://blog.iphone-dev.org/) to create an unlocked version. all this is done with their 3rd party software that is pretty much automated.
i don’t know what it’s talking about going into iTunes under the security tab…iTunes does not unlock the phone.
also, the person above doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Jailbreaking isn’t a virus it’s just making the phone capable to use custom software but still remain on the same network. Unlocking is harder, because of the baseband, and jailbreaks the phone and lets you use it on any capable network.
