I want to buy the Apple iPhone without a contract. If you buy U.S. or Singapore?

I am currently in Madrid and have plans for a trip to U.S. soon. I want to buy the iPhone from Apple, but the following questions, 1. Price of iPhone in the U.S. is cheaper or expensive Singapore (S $ 1,188 for the 16GB 3G)? 2. Is it iphone agreement legal to buy w / o in the U.S.? 3. Can I bring him back to Paris and use here in MS? 4. I have heard that we can find the phones and computers cheap laptops in the U.S., but do not know where I can find them?
