This Week in Technology February 12: Apple ® ®, Facebook, Google Android ™ ® Development

Last week we covered only Google, but this week we spread the love around a bit more and share what is happening with some other big names. In an effort to be fair, we go in alphabetical order.

Apple

This week Apple has had an interesting announcement. No, not another iDevice "but it is linked. In fact, Recent studies indicate that the Apple iPhone ™ ® is now more popular than Nintendo ® DS ™ and Sony ® PSP as a gaming device. This is huge news application developers and those who continue to weigh the value of software for your business.

As if we did not already recognize the iPhone as a platform very popular (Not to mention the iPod Touch and IPAD, which also use the same platform OS 3.2 and are compatible with all iPhone apps), which now growing evidence developing applications that can be very profitable, and the benefits for individual developers can possibly compete with the developers of games for the DS and PSP.

Here at Amadeus Consulting, we already have significant experience in the iPhone and already the development of applications and IPAD. It is always exciting to see the ideas of our customers have new applications and new ways to communicate with your audience. If you think your company could benefit, or if you have a great idea, swing by our page Contact us let us know.

Facebook

Besides a new layout, there are interesting things happening in the world of Facebook. All First, a Business Week report estimates that 2012 sales of virtual goods reached 3.6 billion, up 1.6 billion this year.

What does this mean? This means that all games on Facebook, widgets and applications are ready to make large amounts money just selling flowers digital, digital Farmville dollars of credit and other virtual goods. Even if the market for virtual goods extends beyond Facebook, the company is also planning to extend Facebook universal currency that is used for all applications, as the market for Microsoft Xbox LIVE ®.

While it is certainly important to keep in mind that success is huge market does not guarantee individual success, this scenario gives a boost to investors with a good business plan and a willingness to try something again. In fact, we are very interested social development of network applications, and we'd love to help you develop your idea.

In other news from Facebook, there are rumors of upcoming changes. In First, it is rumored that Facebook will be getting their own mail clients, which means that users can get the e-mail a@facebook.com.

Also this week, a partnership with AOL to integrate Facebook Facebook Chat on AIM, and vice versa. This allows users to chat with AIM and Facebook contacts without switch between windows. It also includes Vital, which updates and aggregates feeds from many social media sites on the environment and allows users to follow updates AIM and chat with users simultaneously.

Google

It's been a busy week for Google and unfortunately we can not put everything in a job. However, there are certain things we're very excited.

First, start unreported cases. Google has tested QR codes TV to post the requests. QR codes are essentially barcodes complicated than most smartphones can read (with camera) and provide information over the phone. In this case, the view of Google QR code in a program on the Weather Channel, with the message "User Exploration Android here."

When users scan the QR code, which leads them to the Android Market ™ App where people could download an official application for The Weather Channel.

While this definitely is not a huge leap in technology provides a necessary link between existing points. It really is just a fancy way to integrate applications and user information in traditional advertising. This could be much more frequent in the future, and could easily be integrated into all the "see our new application" ads they see on TV now (and it works for iPhone applications as well.)

Check the history of our customer's success Alion Science and Technology to see how we can use technology code bars for their portable players.

Second in the news related to Google, and probably the largest item of news of the week is Buzz. Like any regular user of Gmail ™ has been account, Google has created an application of social media directly into Gmail. It's a mix between Twitter ™ and Flicker ™, allowing users to send status updates, followed by other users and add pictures.

Despite some recent updates to privacy continues to receive criticism Buzz due to the difficulty of controlling who can and can not continue, and because it claims that follow and who follows you as a defect. We are very excited to see how the change of Buzz, and even now has been a positive experience for us here. We mentioned last week that Google was opening a Google App Store ™ and other Google services and it will be interesting to see if they allow third party applications and the Buzz.

We also look forward How Google is developing its new acquisition: Social Search Engine Aardvark. Next week, Google also is set to release Android ™ 2.1, the latest update of the Android platform, providing highly anticipated features. Oh, and Google has added a "Cross-view" for many 2010 Olympic events Ski ™, which enables users get a first-person perspective on many events with Google Maps ™.

In addition, we expect the Mobile World Congress next week, the largest trade show for manufacturers of mobile phones and related technologies. Stay tuned.
