How do I use a T-Mobile SIM card in my jailbroken iPhone?

I have the first generation iPhone, and I can run the iPhone with the SIM card for mobile. What should I do? "With mobile SIM card and I downloaded T-Mobile U.S. Carrier (Internet APN), but always error iTunes saying that the iPhone is not compatible with the type of SIM card. Yes please help me!
