What is the cost to data plan and phone for something like the iPhone on Verizon?

I am currently under contract with Verizon to 5 / 2011. I really want an iPhone, but not Verizon. What Verizon phone that's a bit like an iPhone? I tried to look at their data plans that are confusing to me. What I have to pay monthly to have telephone service and use of Internet / e-mail on the phone a month?

Verizon is suppost to get iPhone .. then perhaps only be expected to?
