2G iPhone Help: Is cancel the update on 3.0 jailbroken phone! How?

My jailbroken iPhone 2G 2.2 and I was iTunes and a request that I wanted to download was "not compatible" with my phone. I went online and found that if an application does not load, then may be that the upgrade to 3.0. After all the installation was I actually went back to iTunes and says I have to do more to activate it. Now I want to cancel the update, so I continued pressing then go back and cancel, when I disconnected the phone, bam, it's always the same page as the installation was then under way.
