Quad-Band GSM means iPhone in the Verizon network?

No, the SIM card work in a GSM network (AT & T, T-Mobile). Verizon uses CDMA, which is completely different and do not use SIM cards. The only reason Quad Band with Verizon phones have a SIM card location if you travel with them in a country that has CDMA, you can buy a local provider SIM card and still use your phone.
