What should I get iPhone unlocked to T-Mobile.?

Good will soon buy an unlocked iPhone to use T-Mobile. I know that can not single point using 3G. I need help deciding which version to get. No privately owned an iPhone so they need a little help. I'm thinking about a 3G iPhone in August GB, as it is a newer model and also a better processor speed. Anyone have any suggestions or personal experience with it or suggestions on where to buy? What so hard? Did you mean to do it at work or unlock. Or are there problems with its implementation with the network and the network has problems with its implementation?

Get a 2G. T-Mobile is not compatible with 3G for the iPhone, why pay more for a 3G phone?
